Serving Green Energy Projects: Tuke Energy’s MW-20/0.5-17 Hydrogen Compressor Successfully Passes Commissioning and Ships Out

Recently, Anhui Tuke Energy Equipment Co., Ltd. successfully completed factory testing and shipped the MW-20/0.5-17 hydrogen compressor, developed for a green energy project in Malaysia. This unit will be utilized for hydrogen boosting and process transport, providing the core mechanical support necessary for the continuous and stable operation of the facility.

To address the specific challenges associated with hydrogen—such as its low molecular weight, high leakage risk, and strong diffusivity—the project employs an oil-free compression design. Systematic optimizations were implemented across the board, ranging from cylinder structure and the configuration of piston rings and packing seals to piping connections and instrumentation monitoring. The unit is equipped with a PLC-based automatic control system that enables real-time monitoring of pressures, temperatures, lubrication status, and critical interlock signals; it also features communication interfaces for integration with higher-level systems, meeting the centralized control requirements of petrochemical facilities.

During continuous trial runs, the unit demonstrated smooth mechanical operation, with its sealing performance, temperature rise control, and interlock logic all successfully verified. This delivery marks another milestone in Tuke Energy’s ongoing efforts to cultivate the hydrogen energy equipment market and provides valuable practical experience for the company’s further expansion into the Southeast Asian market for high-end process compressors.
